Educating ... and entertaining customers

When one of my then-employer's largest customers - Time, Inc., asked the regional CEO to give a major presentation to its top publishing brands at its Warner Brothers Studios property in Hollywood, he put me in charge of creating the content. My duties included:

  • All coordination with Time, Inc.'s and Warner Brothers Studios representatives regarding program planning, logistics and other details

  • Closely collaborating with our creative agency of record to develop an entertaining, yet substantive video introduction and an executive presentation discussing our company and the challenges facing the industry. (To view these elements, please click on the icons at the right.)

  • Securing permissions from an international pharmaceutical company to use a portion of a popular TV commercial it had produced poking good-natured fun at a paper salesman to kick-start the video introduction

  • Creating a detailed presentation that followed the video about our company and the industry

  • Preparing another executive to deliver the presentation at the 11th hour when an unavoidable business emergency prevented the CEO from delivering it

The post-event survey administered to attendees representing our customer gave the presentation high marks for its entertainment and educational value.
