What's "Tipitina"?

Tipitina's is one of New Orleans best-known and most beloved music halls, and where President Rebecca Theim spent many happy afternoons and evenings during the six years she lived in New Orleans.

The venue's namesake is the well-known song, "Tipitina," by legendary New Orleans blues musician Henry Roeland "
Professor Longhair" Byrd,
who also performed there until his death in 1980.

Tipitina's also has established Tipitina's Foundation, a non-profit organization to support local music and musicians. The foundation has been especially active in supporting New Orleans-area musicians victimized by Hurricane Katrina.

Tipitina Communications, Inc. is a contributor to Tipitina's Foundation.
